AcrySof Single PieceAlcon AcrySof ReSTOR® IOL Single Piece

The AcrySof® Single-Piece Platform

In the late 1990s, the AcrySof® Single-Piece platform was added to the Alcon family of intraocular lenses. This platform enhanced the highly successful technology of the AcrySof® Multipiece lens by providing additional biomechanical/biomaterial features on a seamless acrylic platform.

The AcrySof® ReSTOR® IOL uses the same biomechanical/biomaterial platform as the AcrySof® Single-Piece platform. As of August 2007, the AcrySof® IOL material has been used in over 25 million human eyes.

These features enable:

  • Surgeon-friendly implantation
  • Excellent centration¹
  • Enhanced capsular conformity²
  • High refractive index
  • High biocompatibility
  • Low Nd:YAG rate³
  • Physical and chemical stability
  • One-step, in-the-bag implantation with MONARCH® II or MONARCH® III IOL Delivery System

The haptics are highly stable and allow the IOL to be centered in the bag. The ultimate elongation of the AcrySof® Single-Piece STABLEFORCE® haptics is approximately 500% greater than PMMA haptics.
